10-Year Repayment Rule
If withdrawn within 10 years of last government contribution, grants and bonds must be repaid. Plan withdrawals carefully.
Holdback Rule
The RDSP holds back grants and bonds for 10 years from when they were deposited before they're fully yours.
Lifetime Disability Assist Plan (LDAP)
After age 60, you can start receiving regular payments from your RDSP tax-efficiently.
DTC Renewal
The DTC must remain valid to keep government contributions. Renew before it expires.
At age 10 with a family income under $34,863, your family qualifies for $3,500 in annual government grants and $1,000 in bonds — $4,500 per year in free money.
